Energy Spent Defending Your Truth is Energy Stolen from Living It...

When you JADE (Justify, Argue, Defend, Explain) you are giving away your power. There is a difference, a huge difference, between living your truth and defending it. And I think we can all agree, there is a fundamental contrast between living your truth and having to defend it.
I think we are all here to live our truths. I think we all just get a little lost along the way. It is scary to live in a manner that might put us outside the circle of safety in our community. This is why it is so hard and brave to stand up and admit you are gay, in a very heteronormativity world. This is why it is so hard to go against the norms our family and society place upon us. We all are connected and need each other, not just for shits and giggles, but to survive.
I am acutely aware each day that my life, while lived in relative solitude a great deal of the time, is deeply connected to others. The people that work to ensure I have power, gas and water. The people who pick my food, drive it to the store, and put it on the shelves for me to purchase. The people who make my clothes and then arrange them in the store so they are attractive for me to buy. The people who patrol my town streets to keep it safe to walk them. Even if I have zero physical encounters with anyone all day, I am still connected to others. And I want to be clear, I NEED those others. My life depends on those others. As much as I feel an island unto myself a great deal of the time, I am not.
We all need each other. And to live your truth puts you in real jeopardy in being excluded from the circle of living. Imagine how hard your life would be if you were suddenly outcast from your society and community. If the others you reside with threw you out. It is actually the cruelest thing that can happen, to be ostracized from living with and among others.
So it is a real act of bravery to live your truth. I mean, really.
But every bit of energy we spend defending our truth, is energy we lose to actually live our truth.
As terrifying as it can be sometimes, I think that is what we are here for. To live our truths as boldly and bravely as we can. To live with conviction and daring to be who we are, how we are and what we are. All with a margin for error that is living and evolving. And allow the communities to come and go. To trust that no matter how weird, bizarre, non-conforming we might be, there are others, there are always others, that get us and love us and will support us living the life we are supposed to live.
My purpose is not yours. And yours is not mine. But in the alchemy of our souls, we each have our purpose and life, and the mixing of the two has the possibility and potential to alter both our courses. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes not so much.
I believe the bravest thing we can do is to show up authentically in this life. To be who we are, in the face of everyone telling us to be someone else. To live our truth, be ourselves and live according to that Divine inner light. To share that light with others, all the others, and to allow each of those others to decide for themselves whether they want to share our light, and in return they may decide, or not, to share theirs...
So, for me, I am going to spend my time living my truth and understanding it will, in process, remove some of your from my life. And that is ok. And in you living yours, sometimes, that will, by definition, remove me from yours. I guess the most important thing to know and understand, is that I want to participate in no more theft of energy from anyone living their truth, which includes me. I want us all to live according to that inner guidance system, that for me is God, and for you, can be whatever you want to call it. And I want for us all to find some love and acceptance that expands the path we all walk in this life, so that each of us may live according to our own inner guidance, moving towards those community and souls that make this whole endeavor of living meaningful, worthwhile and fun.
Again, still...
