Laguna Beach...

I haven’t spent a lot of time here.  In fact, I don’t think I have spent really any time here.  I stayed here a million years ago...at the Surf & Sand.  That was amazing.  Such a cool place and lovely vibe.  Last night, I had dinner there but chose to stay somewhere else that wasn’t a million dollars a night.  Dinner was lovely and the company was amazing!  So cool to meet people in person when you only know them through zoom.

I walked around downtown yesterday when I got here, taking in the vibes, the shops and trying to walk the kinks out of my back and legs after sitting on the 405 for, well, way too long.  I swear I would spend more time down this way, but the 405 acts as a very strong barrier!  I just hate that road with a passion.

I woke up this morning to the couple next door having very loud sex.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what I was hearing...I was like, “wait, what the fuck is that??”

Pounding

Slapping

Moaning

What the fuck that was, was fucking...pure and simple!

I am both proud and embarrassed to say that it has been THAT long that it took me a few minutes for it to register that SEX was happening...

Good for them!  I hope it was amazing for all of us...

I guess the progress I can claim today is that hearing other people getting busy didn’t engender in me a feeling of disconnection or a feeling of less than.  I was genuinely happy for them and hope they are madly in love and their sex is the best sex they have ever had!  I am not sure I have that kind of sex in my future, but I hope so...I mean, I really, really, hope so.

I got up this morning early (thanks to the sex next door) and went for a walk along the cliffs.  The sun was just rising and it was so peaceful and beautiful.  The heat wave not yet present and the surf lovely and calming.  This place is so beautiful and I feel so blessed to get to come to places like this.  To meet new people.  To be a source of encouragement and support to others...to get to live this most amazing life.  And today I get to live it in Laguna Beach.  Which is a kind of heaven on this earth.  I am not sure what I did to deserve this life, but I am so grateful.  So very, very grateful.

One more thing, everyone is so nice and friendly here.  Like everyone, the coffee shop people, the people walking their dogs, the guys that maintain the parks.  Everyone is so welcoming and friendly.  Not always my experience in places of great beauty and wealth!  But the beauty of the land is reflected in the people.  And so it became that way with me too.  So easy to reflect back beauty and joy and happiness when it is literally all around you...

Again, still...
