Taylor Makes Me Happy...

I am not sure about you but I have been listening to Taylor’s new music drop on non-stop repeat since it was dropped and, as usual, I love them all. Patient Zero? Fucking brilliant! I immediately texted my other girlfriend sister chick (she was the girl my ex was also sleeping with and dating and professing undying love to at the very same time he was doing all of those same things to me). I was like, “this is OUR song!”
What I love most about Patient Zero is the kinship she creates with the other woman who is experiencing the same fate, the same gaslighting, the same lies and bullshit and is like, “hey, let me know if you want to party, I got you!” I fucking love that. Women having each other’s backs against a common enemy...the man they thought loved them and cared for them...
How many times can we women be so wrong about you dudes?
Many, many times...
I also love that this is NOT Taylor’s fate anymore. That she got her “happily ever after.” Gives me hope that maybe someday...
My other girlfriend sister chick is now happily engaged to a GREAT guy that loves her, takes care of her and supports her instead of lying to her, cheating on her and gaslighting her into a nervous breakdown. I know there are good men out there, I just don’t seem to be attracted to them. Instead, I seem to have some sort of magnetic North towards the men that will lie with impunity and call that love.
I have really been working to change myself. And I am making inroads to making healthier choices. Which means I have taken a break from dating...yep, I have been that sick that I needed to sit out for a little while and think about what I was doing and why.
While Patient Zero hit home the most, I also like Pink Clouding, Cleveland! And Babylon. I love them all. And love how they represent different facets of relating: breaking up, owning your own past break up missteps, falling in love, and the regret you should feel when you have been lucky enough to have an amazing love life and took it for granted and burned it down.
All her songs are about love in some form: starting, ending, occurring, going horribly wrong. And I fucking love that. I mean, love makes the world go round, right?
Anyway, I just fucking love her. I love everything about her: her personality, her intelligence, her never ending optimism, her spark, her creativity, her work ethic, her humor, her ability to laugh at herself. She is such an amazing role model and thought leader. And she does all of the above while making me feel just happy.
I was at the gym yesterday just blaring her music and rocking out. It was hard NOT to dance. I mean, I kept it cool but barely.
Thank you Ms. Swift-Kelce. Thank you for showing us the way to love in all the ways and all the forms and for making the soundtrack to our own love lives make more sense by writing music about yours.
Again, still...
